childhood eczema

  1. Soma,

I wanted to thank you for your help with my daughter's eczema. Her eczema is doing better with the last round of Xiao Feng San I gave her. She still has very dry skin but I have found if I moisturize it frequently, the eczema stays at bay. I have seen a huge improvement though and I am very grateful for your guidance. I ended up giving her the Xiao Feng San/xiao chai hu tang combined for just about three weeks. She still has quite a few swollen lymph nodes in the occipital region and one behind her ear. A few of them did seem to get smaller but there are still three on the right and one on the left that are palpable and swollen. Would you suggest I continue giving her the xiao chai hu tang? Does it usually take quite a while to see an improvement?

  2. So happy to hear your daughter feels better. Yes, continue Xiao Chai Hu Tang until nodes are better. But it needs to be modified because it's too drying. Best would be to add Dang Gui Yin Zi to nourish Yin and Blood until the skin is completely healed. But if any flare-ups happen or acute invasions of an exogenous pathogen, you need to discontinue the herbs and start again later.

All the best. Keep me posted,

    Soma
