TREATING
CHILDHOOD ECZEMA AND ADHD
A
weekend workshop with
Soma Glick
Saturday
& Sunday, December 4 & 5,
9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
In this workshop you will
learn:
- How phlegm plays an
important role in most eczema / asthma / allergy combination in
infants and children, as well as in many patterns of
ADHD.
- Dietary and lifestyle
factors which aggravate or directly contribute to childhood eczema
and ADHD.
- Acupuncture point
prescriptions, sho-ni-shin protocol and herbal formulas with
modifications for phlegm patterns of eczema and
ADHD.
This
workshop is for anyone interested in treating children within the
scope of Oriental Medicine and is best suited for students and
practitioners of Chinese Medicine who have already taken a basic
class or seminars on pediatric acupuncture.
On Saturday, we will talk
about skin disorders, focusing on the treatment of eczema and
specifically its connection with asthma and allergies. On Sunday,
we'll explore ADHD, its multi-dimensional etiologies, social
ramifications and the connection with phlegm
accumulation.
Besides regular needle
insertion techniques for kids, I will present the use of
sho-ni-shin, a non-needle, painless Japanese system used for infants
and children which can be of great help for fearful or very delicate
children. It is easy to learn and to use, yet can be very effective
in getting positive results for chronic and acute common childhood
disorders.Basic differences between children and adults, diagnostic
skills and patterns differentiation will be quickly
reviewed.
